The following are the cities in the state of Tamil Nadu, India, which have a population of 10 lakh (10,00,000) and above (urban agglomerations), based on the 2011 census conducted by Government of India.[1]

Tamil Nadu' is the tenth largest state of the Indian subcontinent and is bordered by the union territory of Puducherry and the South Indian states of Kerala, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh. It is the second largest state in India by GDP[2] and is the most industrialised state in India. Over 60% of the state is urbanized, accounting for 10.6% of the urban population in the country, while only comprising 6% of India's total population. Services contributes to 55% of the economic activity in the state, followed by manufacturing at 34% and agriculture at 11%. Government is the major investor in the state, with 52% of total investments, followed by private Indian investors at 29.9% and foreign private investors at 14.9%. It has been ranked as the first most economically free state in India by the Economic Freedom Rankings for the States of India.[3]
