Lou Val is a singer and songwriter born just outside Toronto, Ontario in Ajax..[1] He began releasing music from his Soundcloud in late 2015 under the name Louis Val.[2] Most of his loose Soundcloud releases have since been deleted from his account. On May 4th 2018[3], Lou digitally released his debut project titled Lonely In Paradise.

Lou Val began releasing music from his Soundcloud in late 2015 under the name Louis Val[2] and later also under the moniker of VAL[4]. Most of his early work has been deleted from his account. This has caused fans to upload compilations of deleted songs across the internet[5].
His song titled 'Mi Amor' released independently on September 23, 2017 was called the "the Sade tribute of the year" by Noisey writer Phil Whitmer[6]
Lou Val was included among Pigeons & Planes' '13 Rising Artists From Toronto You Should Know' list. alongside Jessie Reyez, Derek Wise, River Tiber, Killy and more.[4] He was also listed on HotNewHipHop's '10 Toronto Singers You Should Know' article [7]alongside Plaza, River Tiber and others.
Lou has repeatedly been featured on OVO Sound Radio by the host and OVO co-founder Oliver El-Khatib. This includes: 'Mi Amor' on episode 49[8] (Released under Val moniker), a premiere of his tracks 'Rush Hour' and 'Lil Mama' on episode 50[9], 'Interchanges' on episode 52[10], 'Back To Basics Ft. Lou Val' by GOVI on episode 53[11] and episode 54[12], 'Moon Luv' on episode 56[13], 'Crisp' on episode 58[14], 'Fast Ft. Johnny Yukon' on episode 59[15] and 'The Earth Stood Still' on episode 61[16].
