Lynn Sissons

Lynn Sissions was an painter from Manitoba. She was born on September 13, 1889 to Mary Ann Sutherland and Thomas Sissons. In 1921 attended Winnipeg School of Art and the University of Manitoba Faculty of Art. Her watercolors of nature are her most well known artworks held by many private and public collectors. She was the president of the Winnipeg Sketch Club and Manitoba Society of Artists. She designed sets for the Winnipeg Little Theatre and was the treasurer of the Poetry Society of Winnipeg. She received several awards during her life, including the, Citation of Merit from the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts and a Centennial Medal from the Manitoba Historical Society. She never married and passed away on April 15, 1985. she resides at the Portage Hillside Cemetery.
