Michael Catanzaro (born January 17, 1995), better known by his stage name MIKEY C, is an American DJ and electronic record producer based in Los Angeles, California. He is well known for his melodic remixes in the genres of trap and future bass.
History[edit]
MIKEY C was born January 17, 1995 in Portland, Connecticut, United States, the son of Lisa and Anthony Catanzaro. He is of Italian descent. Although raised by a family with no musical background, he excelled as a pianist and percussionist at an early age. In 2013, he successfully auditioned for the Hartt School of Music as a classical pianist. He first garnered attention as a DJ while attending university, throwing parties and landing a residency in Hartford, Connecticut. MIKEY C studied Music Production and earned his Bachelor of Music degree by 2017. Post graduation, he began pursing a DJ career full-time.
Career[edit]
In 2016 and 2017, MIKEY C played at Firefly Music Festival in Dover, Deleware.
In 2017, MIKEY C released his remix of well known duo, Tritonal's "Good Thing".
In 2018, MIKEY C released his remix of Zedd's hit, "The Middle". This was MIKEY C's most successful, amassing over 300,000 plays across the streaming platforms of YouTube and Soundcloud.
In 2018, MIKEY C's remix of Two Friends - Just A Kid was released on Source / Spinnin Records.[1] The remix was featured in Two Friends' mix "Friendly Sessions" as well as Spinnin Record's weekly mix, "Spinnin Sessions". [2]
