Maayai Mara
Maayai Mara is a Tamil Short film directed by Kodeeswaran and being produced by Muralitharan under the banner Visual Art Movies. I am writing this article to support the efforts of Movie team to develop the regional cinema by releasing a short film in theater. The script was written by Kodeeswaran. The film stars Imran, Kodeeswaran, Rebecca, Thinushanth, Nigarika and many others. The film features music composed by Kaeshanth, whilst cinematography and editing were handled by Abishek. It was released on 13th of February 2021. The movie conveys a social message narrated as "Delusion - It is an illusion to show the unstable as stable. Love is a Delusion - intoxication is also a Delusion. Both cause losing self-confidence and relationships. Get rid of the screen of illusion and know the edge of truth. Forget the Delusion".
The film moves through two stories that travel in parallel. Is his love real when the protagonist of the film, who is taken in the wrong way by someone who wanders irresponsibly in the society, hurts himself and those around him? It's a story that tells whether it helped him get better. The other is the story of what happens to a young woman who is inspired by the fast-growing "Bestee" culture of the present. A short film that shows how two stories that travel in parallel connect at the same point.
It is a beautiful portrayal of a father-son duo, how a father raises his son alone, what he dedicates himself to, and that love is not just about attraction, it is also a responsibility. The visualization of friends in the film is also very interesting. In one story it is shown that friends are the reason why a person who goes the good way chooses the evil way, while in the second story it is shown that bringing a friend to the good way is like friends. Love is captured in two ways. One love is shown as illusion and the other as love.
Maayai Mara is a beautiful film that describes both love and addiction as illusion and what is true with the help of appropriate songs and complete background music.[1][2]
