Manish Vatsalya

Vatssalya Films is established by Actor turned Director Manish Vatsalya in 2017, Manish is a dentist turned filmmaker. He was born in Purnia, Bihar in an affluent family. Shambhu Nath Mishra and Hiran Mishra are his parents. He completed dentistry at Darbhanga Medical College. Though he planned to start a clinic at home, acting bug bit him and he switched his career. Earlier his decision was not supported by his family but he moved to Mumbai to pursue his dreams. It was not easy for him to achieve success in a field which was quite unfamiliar to him. Mumbai was a strange city to him. After initial struggles he got opportunity to appear in the famous music video ‘Teri Deewani’ by Kailash Kher which turned to be an instant hit. In 2012 he made his directorial debut with ‘Hai To Thok Daal’. Film has won the Best Foreign Feature Film at the Mexico International Film Festival (MIFF). A crime thriller showcasing the harsh realities and the clout of the underworld in Bihar. Ensemble cast for the film was Ravi Kishan, Manish Vatsalya, Yashpal Sharma, Hazel Crowney, Sharat Saxena, Murli Sharma, Ashwini Kalsekar and Govind Namdev. Manish says “This award has given a boost to my confidence as a director. I am really thankful to the producers and people who have appreciated the film”. The film was also nominated at the Jaipur International Film Festival. It was Producer Aparna Hoshing who encouraged him to take direction as well. Dussehra is his upcoming flick as a director stated to release. And the movie stars in the film are Neil Nitin Mukesh, Manish Vatsalya, Tina Desai, Govind Namdev, Ashwini Kalsekar, Murli Sharma and Sharat Saxena.
