Marc Leader is the owner and director of the 212 Arts Gallery in the East Village neighborhood of New York City. Since 2016, 212 Arts has been a featured gallery at Aqua Art Miami, which is a sister fair of Art Basel.[1] Leader curates exhibitions surrounding the theme of urban art at other institutions, notably "From the Streets: An Exhibition of Urban Art" at ArtsWestchester in White Plains, New York.[2]

212 Arts[edit]

Founded in 2014, 212 Arts primarily shows the work of graffiti writers and street artists.[3]

Leader has curated solo exhibitions at 212 Arts for both established and emerging artists including: Chris RWK, PhoebeNewYork, Lambros and Paul Richard.[4][5][6][7][8] Leader also organizes group shows and has featured artists such as: Bisco Smith, WRDSMTH, Plastic Jesus, Paige Smith, Colette Miller, WhIsBe, RISK, Ces, Damon Johnson and Thrashbird.[9][10][11][12][13]

"From the Streets: An Exhibition of Urban Art," 2017[edit]

In 2017, Leader co-curated an exhibition on urban art at ArtsWestchester, an art space located in a former Chase Banking Room in White Plains.[14][15] [16] Dozens of significant urban artists, including Lady Pink and TATS CRU, were featured.[17][2] Additionally, the documentaries "Saving Banksy" (2017) and "The Mural Kings" (2006) were streamed on loop.[18] Street Art NYC wrote that the exhibition was "scrupulously researched and splendidly presented."[19]
