Beno gained 3 promotions in 2.5 years with Novomestský Športový Klub 1922 Bratislava where he transferred from Atlanta SC [1], a club from the National Premier Soccer League in the United States. His natural position is attacking mid (no.10) but can play as a striker as well. Beno was born in Bratislava, Slovakia where he also started his soccer career and later went onto to play in Austria and the United States where he played for Life University [2] in the NAIA Men's Soccer Championship [3] and also graduated with a degree in Business Management.

Youth Career[edit]

Marek Beno started to play soccer at the age of 5. He started his youth career in Slovakia and had played for youth teams such as FK Rapid Bratislava, FK Inter Bratislava, LP Domino, FC Ružinov Bratislava and FC Petržalka where he also played the highest U19 league in the country.

Senior Career[edit]

Beno started his senior career at the age of 18 in the 2011/2012 season in the 2. Liga (Slovakia) with FC Petržalka [4]. He appeared in three games all as a substitute and tallied 1 assist in the game against MFK Dolný Kubín [5] which resulted in 2:1 defeat for FC Petržalka.

At the beginning of 2012/2013 season Beno moved for one year to his former club FC Ružinov Bratislava where he also scored his first senior goal in Domestic BFZ Cup against FK Rača.

For the 2013/2014 season, Beno transferred to Austria to play for SC Obersiebenbrunn where he managed to score 24 goals and added 15 assists in 39 games for the club. These performances [6] arose the interest from other clubs around the country and Beno then transferred to SC Piringsdorf at the end of the season [7].

In the early stages of the 2014/2015 season Beno suffered a torn ACL after just 3 games into the season. In those 3 games, SC Piringsdorf scored 4 goals and Marek netted 3 of them and assisted one goal as well. Marek spent one and a half year with SC Piringsdorf and played 27 games where he managed to score 15 goals and added 8 assists.

After 2 and a half years in Austria, Beno returned back to his home country and signed for ŠK Tomášov, a club in 3. Liga (Slovakia). During his almost two years long stay there, ŠK Tomášov had the most successful times in the club's history winning the Domestic BFZ Cup in 2015 and then finishing 3rd in 3. Liga (Slovakia) 2015/2016 season.

After playing college soccer from 2017 to 2019, Beno was signed for Atlanta SC, a club that played in National Premier Soccer League for the 2019 season. He managed to play 3 games in the regular season and the club failed to qualify for the play-offs.

In January 2020, Beno returned back to his home country Slovakia to play for Novomestský Športový Klub 1992 Bratislava where he transferred from Atlanta SC in the middle of the 2019/2020 season. Novomestský Športový Klub 1992 Bratislava won a promotion to the 5th league at the end of the 2019/2020 season. Marek played a vital role the next season as his newly promoted team got promoted again after the play-off final against Vistuk at the end of Covid affected 2020/2021 season. Marek scored 9 goals in 12 games and added 4 assists. He also received his 1st red card ever in a game against Miloslavov for criticizing the referee.

In the following 2021/22 season, Beno played a pivotal role once again as his newly promoted Novomestský Športový Klub 1992 Bratislava got promotion again. It was club's 3rd promotion in 3 seasons and a perfect celebration of club's 100 years of existence. Marek played 27 league games, scoring 12 goals and adding 6 assists.
