Małgosia Jablońska (pen name: Margaret Camilyan)is a Polish writer residing in Luton, UK. She is an author who draws inspiration from her own life and experience.[1]

Personal Life[edit]

Born in Poland in 1979, Małgosia is the mother of two sons whom she has raised herself.[2] Małgosia came to the UK in 2004, initially intending to stay just 2 weeks. However, she has lived there ever since met the father of her children. She became separated from the boys’ father and with the children ill she travelled back to Poland for support. She returned to the UK, allowing her sons to maintain contact with their father. She worked hard to create a family life for her boys - celebrating birthdays, keeping traditions and maintaining contact with relatives in Poland. Małgosia took inspiration from her Grandmother’s words “change starts within yourself”. This gave the single mother the confidence to take life into her own hands and make things happen. Małgosia’s Grandfather was influential on her early life, being the primary male role model throughout her youth.[3]

Having spent years of her life in a foreign land, Małgosia feels she has learnt respect; she has been humbled and has become appreciative of the little things in life. She feels it to be important to be healthy and strong to deliver for her family – and to continue to chase her dreams.[4]

Career[edit]

Małgosia has worked as a waitress, maid, babysitter and carer for the elderly and hairdresser. She worked in this occupation whilst studying English and Mathematics. Her passion for literature began to grow when she used it as a form of escapism from the real world.[5]

Literature[edit]

For Małgosia, writing makes the world interesting. She says that she can lose herself in her imagined worlds, which provide a tool to escape, and a way to show her love to her children. ‘Pomarancza Zycia'(Orange of Life) is a testimony to this love.[6]

Publications[edit]

‘Pomarancza Zycia'(Orange of Life), 2016 'Poszukiwania rodzicow Krolowej Zimy' (The Winter Queen's Parents), 2017 'Powrót na bagna' (Return to the Swamp), 2019[7]
