Margaret G. Marucci

Margaret H. Marucci Kelly (May 8, 1912 – June 13, 2005) was an American Democratic Party politician who served as an Essex County Freeholder from 1962 to 1968. She served as Chairman of the Essex County Geriatric Center, as Vice Chairman of the Essex County Sanitarium, as Vice Chairman of the Essex County Psychiatric Hospital.

Biography[edit]

She was born on May 8, 1912.

She was elected Freeholder in 1961, and re-elected in 1964.[1] In 1965, Marucci, a widow, married James W. Kelly, Jr., a widower and the Mayor of East Orange, New Jersey.[2] Her first husband was Orange attorney Michael Marucci. She served as Chairman of the Essex County Geriatric Center, as Vice Chairman of the Essex County Sanitarium, as Vice Chairman of the Essex County Psychiatric Hospital, and as a member of the Essex County Welfare Board. She owned a dress shop in Short Hills.[3]

She died on June 13, 2005.
