Mark Lee (Born August 2, 1999), known professionally as Mark, is a Canadian singer and rapper. Lee was born in Toronto, Ontario. In 2013, Lee pre-debuted as a member of SM Rookies. In 2016, Lee officially made his debut as a member of NCT.

Lee is the only member who participates in all NCT sub-units, being a main rapper in NCT U, NCT 127, NCT Dream, NCT 2018, respectively.

Early Life[edit]

Lee was born on August 2, 1999 in Toronto, Ontario. His parents are from South Korea. When he turned 7, Lee moved to New York City, New York. At the age of 12, Lee settled down in Vancouver, British Columbia. His family consists of his father, his mother, and an older brother. Growing up in Vancouver, Lee dreamed to be a K-pop artist. One day, he got informed of audition, until the application he was not so sure of participation in the audition Lee was casted from S.M. Entertainment Vancouver's global audition in 2012. Prior to moving to South Korea for good, Lee frequently visited Korea for training during school breaks, and went back to Vancouver. Later on, Lee decided to live in Korea in pursuit of his dream, transferring to Eonju Middle School in Gangnam, where there is a special class for Third Culture Kid.

Career[edit]

2013-2016: As a member of SM Rookies[edit]

Lee was revealed as a member of SM Rookies, or a pre-debut team on December 17, 2013.

The Mickey Mouse Club[edit]

In 2015, Lee and other Rookies' trainees participated in the Mickey Mouse Club, produced by Disney Channel Korea.

2016-present: NCT and solo activities[edit]

Throughout the year, Lee debuted three times consecutively.

Debuted as NCT U[edit]

Lee was revealed as a member of NCT U on April 9, 2016. NCT U was the very first unit to debut make public the name of NCT to the world. The unit released their first single The 7th Sense. The unit made their debut in Korea on music program KBS's Music Bank on April 15 and have subsequently appeared in three seasons of their reality series NCT Life, featuring other SM Rookies.

Debuted as NCT 127[edit]

On July 1, Lee debuted as a member of NCT 127. On July 7, the group had their official debut stage on the music program M Countdown, performing their title track "Fire Truck" and "Once Again" from their album. Their debut EP NCT #127 was released digitally on July 10 and physically on July 11. On July 29, the unit released the single "Taste the Feeling" for the project SM Station in collaboration with Coca-Cola.

Debuted as NCT Dream[edit]

On August 18, Lee debuted as a member of NCT Dream, being a leader of the unit. The unit consists of seven members: Mark, Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin, Chenle, and Jisung. Their first single Chewing Gum was released on August 24 and the unit had their debut stage on M Countdown on August 25.
