Mark Mosimann (born 23 January 1977) is a Swiss/British restaurateur and Managing Director of The Mosimann's Collection.

Early Life[edit]

Mark was born in Langenthal, Switzerland in 1975 to renowned chef Anton Mosimann [1]. He was initially educated at The Hampshire School, London, then moving on to Hill House International School. He continued his education at Harrow School between 1990 to 1995 before studying at The Lausanne Hotel Management School until 2001, graduating with a Bachelors degree in International Hospitality Management.

Career[edit]

Mark began his career in 2001 as Assistant Food & Beverage Manager at Campton Place Hotel, San Francisco, responsible for the daily food and beverage operations. He continued his work in San Francisco until October 2003, having been promoted to Food and Beverage Manager, after which he moved to Shanghai, China to take on the position of General Manager at the Laris restaurant Three on the Bund. During his time in Shanghai, Mark helped the restaurant achieve 'Best Restaurant of the Year' in 2005 and 2006, voted for by Time Out Magazine, as well as being named one of the six recipients of the 'Best Design From Greater China' award in 2006 [2] and created 5 independent retail and eat-in delicatessen outlets under the brand 'Slice'.

The Mosimann's Collection[edit]

In June 2007, Mark joined his family's business, The Mosimann Collection[3], as Managing Director, working alongside his father Anton and brother Philipp. He is responsible for the management of strategic operations at the Private Dining Members' Club and Private Dining Rooms at the Belgravia-based Mosimann's Club. Mosimann's have famously catered for 5000 at The Olympics in 2008, 2010, 2014, 2016, 2018 and are set to cater for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Mosimann's are also well-known as the royal caterers, having catered for the weddings of HRH The Duke of Cambridge and HRH The Duchess of Cambridge in 2011[4], HM The Queen's Jubilee Luncheon in 2012 and the royal wedding of HRH The Duke of Sussex and The Duchess of Sussex in 2018[5][6]. Furthermore, Mosimann's has held the contract for the Tottenham Hotspur Boardroom Catering[7] and a residency at the Guards Polo Club Smith's Lawn Clubhouse since 2016[8].

Personal Life[edit]

Mark is married with two children. He enjoys endurance and adventure racing including trekking to the 1996 Magnetic North Pole on a four and a half week trip. He has completed just over 20 adventure races and ultra-marathons in Asia, Europe and Africa[9]. In 2018, he climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania in aid of the charity Becoming X.
