Marooned is a 2019 American computer-animated short film written and directed by Andrew Erekson in his directorial debut, and produced by DreamWorks Animation. A product of DreamWorks' newly-created shorts program, the film centers on a determined robot finds an eager helper to assist him in repairing a rocket to take him back home to Earth.[1]
Plot[edit]
Production[edit]
The film is the third to be part of the DreamWorks' newly-created shorts program, with two ideas from Captain Underpants story artist Andrew Erekson. The first was a character being stranded on a desert island, but not in a traditional island setting. And the second was the idea of a character sacrificing their ultimate desire so someone else could benefit.[1]
Release[edit]
The film was released exclusively during screenings from "Abominable",[1] which had previously been screened at the 2019 Annecy International Animated Film Festival and as part of a cross-promotion between DreamWorks Animation and AMC Theatres.
