Matchups

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

I certainly do not have any relationship to this filmmaker or this film. I am a fan and someone who is new to writing on Wikipedia. I looked for this film a while back on Wikipedia and it was not there. I thought I would contribute the information on it. Nobody is paying me to do this. This is why it takes me a few days to get back to it because my life is busy and I do this in my rare spare time. I thought contributing notable things would be fun. You already accepted my first entry of "A Night in Compton." Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but there is no connection with me and the filmmaker. And yes, there is another film and a rock group and maybe some members of the rock group that I'd like to write about later. I appreciate your cautiousness, but what I am writing about is "notable" there is no conflict of interest and I'm writing as a fan and one who has interest in the subjects.

Matchups is an American sports drama directed and written by Donahue Tuitt. The film was released on June 6, 2003.

Plot

The Knights are a struggling college basketball team. Their coach is fired midseason. Ian "Wonder Boy" Williams was a past star player for the Knights. A few years prior, he suffered an eye injury that caused him to go blind and end his basketball career. The college, desperate for a coach that knows Knights basketball and one that can redeem their losing year, takes a chance on hiring Williams.[1] He finds this as a welcomed challenge that can put meaning back in his life. He can continue to be a part of a game he loves.[2] Along with his assistant coach Harold White, Williams turns the team around, gives them pride at being Knights and puts them on the road to a winning season.
