Mathew Jones (born 8 August 1999) is a Welsh footballer who plays as a defender or midfielder for Cymru Premier side Aberystwyth Town.

Club career[edit]

Jones went through the academies at both Market Drayton Town and Shrewsbury Town but after failing to break into the first team at Shrewsbury, he joined Cymru Premier side Aberystwyth Town.[1]

In an interview with the club, Jones stated "As soon as I didn’t get approached by Shrewsbury, I was trying other places and to represent my home side. I just wanted to play for Aber."[2]

International career[edit]

Jones was called up to the Wales C national team in 2019 for their annual match against England, but he failed to get off the bench. [3]
