Matthew Prescott (Author and Activist)
Matthew Prescott is an author and activist focusing on the impacts of diet on the environment, animals and human health.[1] He is the author of Food Is the Solution: What to Eat to Save the World (published 2018 by Flatiron Books)[2] and a contributor to Fortune.[3]
Food Is the Solution[edit]
In 2018, Prescott published Food Is the Solution: What to Eat to Save the World – which includes design, photography, infographics and narrative essays along with more than 80 recipes to advocate for eating more plant-based foods as a way of improving the global environment.[2]
Academy Award-winning director James Cameron authored the book’s foreword, and the book includes original essays by Whole Foods Market Founder and CEO John Mackey, Chef José Andrés, Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) President Rhea Suh, Sierra Club Deputy Executive Director Bruce Hamilton, Greenpeace USA Executive Director Annie Leonard, New York Times-bestselling author of How Not to Die, Michael Greger, M.D., Environmental Working Group President Ken Cook, and many other notable figures.[4] The book also received endorsements from notable individuals including: Paul McCartney, Keegan-Michael Key, Alice Waters, Mehmet Oz, Emeril Lagasse, Wolfgang Puck, Elle Macpherson, Moby, Paul Reubens, Richard Linklater, Téa Leoni, and dozens of other leading social figures, politicians, environmental leaders and more.[2]
