Miana (Persian Community)

Miana is a Persian community found in Iran Afghanistan Pakistan and Azerbaijan. They are part of Iranian peoples who either speak Persian or Dari. They are the indigenous peoples of Iranian platue. PreIslamic communities wre either Zorostrian or Bhuddist. They came under the influence of Islamic caliphate during the reign of second Caliph Umar. They are closely related to Pashtun community found in Miyanishin Mountains of Afghanistan. They participated in early revolts against Caliphate but ultimately became peaceful. They were more influenced by Sufi Islam. Preislamic community joined forces with Sassanid Persian empire. Many of Mianas immigrated to Afghanistan from Iran to avoid conversion to Shia in 1500s when Iran was under rule of Shah Ismail I of Safavid dynasty.
