Michael Jason Barash is a professional baseball player currently in the Los Angeles Angels Organization as a catcher..[1]

Early Life

Michael Jason Barash was born on October 12, 1994 in Boca Raton, Florida [2]. His parents are James and Debbie Barash and he is Jewish [3] Barash attended West Boca Raton High School, where he earned All-Florida First Team, First-Team All-Conference and All-Palm Beach County First Team honors while batting .500 with 12 doubles, two home runs, 28 RBI and 12 stolen bases as a junior in 2012[4]. The team won the Florida 5A state championship in 2011, and Barash provided the game-winning RBI[5].

College

Had five starts in 18 games for Louisiana State University as a freshmen and hit .269 (7-of-26) with eight runs, one double, one home run and four RBI in 2013[6]. In 2014, Barash transferred to Palm Beach State College where he hit .335 with four home runs and 33 RBI in 2014 to earn All-Southern Conference First Team and All-Florida College System Activities Association Second Team[7]. In 2015, Barash transferred to Texas A&M. He played in 60 games and hit .238 (40-of-168) with 24 runs, three doubles, two home runs and 18 RBI and threw out 20 of 63 attempted base stealers[8]
