Michael Longoria

Michael Longoria is an American actor, singer, and dancer.

He is known for his work on Broadway as Frankie Valli in Jersey Boys, Hairspray, as well as for originating the role of Joe Pesci in Jersey Boys.[1]

Additionally, Longoria is known for his concert work as part of The Midtown Men.[2]

In 2016, he released his debut solo Broadway album, Broadway Brick By Brick.[3]

Early life[edit]

Longoria was born and raised in Hollywood, California. Longoria attended the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts. After graduating from LACHSA, Longoria attended New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts[4] and received a BFA in Drama.

Career[edit]

Longoria made his Broadway debut in the smash hit[5] musical Hairspray (2003 Tony Award for Best Musical).[6]. After Hairspray, Longoria went on to create the role of Joey in the Original Broadway cast of Jersey Boys (2006 Tony Award for Best Musical[7]). While playing the role of Joey, Longoria also understudied the leading role of Frankie Valli and played the role at matinees. On November 27, 2007, Longoria took over the role of Frankie Valli full time.[8] In 2017, Longoria created the role of Freddy in the Original Off Broadway cast of The View Upstairs[9] and can be heard on the original cast album[10].
