Michael "Slades" Sladek (Born 1964) is an American born life insurance executive. He has held various roles with Fortune 500 Life Insurance companies and piloted sales for two major life insurance technology companies.

Slades has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting with a double major in Economics from Northeastern Illinois University and received a Master’s of Science in Taxation from DePaul University.  

Slades was one of the pioneers of life Insurance technology when in 2001 he and his team developed ZApp. An online electronic life insurance drop ticket created for Zurich Kemper Life. In 2003, Slades was listed as a co-applicant on a patent for an electronic appointment process called ZAppoint. ZAppoint was the first of it's kind electronic appointment application process between life insurance agents and a life insurance carrier.

In 2004 Slades was asked to serve as the Technology Chair for the ACORD Standards Committee. The 15-member ASC is comprised of Domain Steering Committee and Subcommittee Chairs as well as three ACORD Board directors who were collectively responsible for leading the ACORD standards process at all levels.

Slades continues to work in the Life Insurance industry today and currently services as National Sales Director for Mutual of Omaha. He speaks at conferences on a regular basis and works to mentor and train young professionals entering the life insurance industry.

Slades is also the creator of the Double Meal Dad. A YouTube channel dedicate to helping families stretch their dollar farther by buying more of the things that are on sale, cooking those things together and using the leftovers to make another meal or the Double Meal.
