Michael V. Marinello is a former American media industry executive and public relations professional. He is currently the global head of communications for Standard Industries Inc.[1] In 2016, he was appointed EVP Corporate Communications for Turner Broadcasting, one of the world's largest television networks and prior to that he was a communications executive for Bloomberg LP and worked for Michael Bloomberg.[2] [3] [4] He is also the former press secretary for U.S. Sen. Bob Kerry of Nebraska.[5]

Marinello was appointed global head of communications of Standard Industries in July 2018 after serving as EVP Corporate Communications for Turner Broadcasting since 2016.[6] He was charged with driving Turner’s corporate communications efforts, including brand reputation; messaging across all external owned, digital and social media platforms; media relations; thought leadership; and the overall coordinated communications strategy.
According to Lauren Hurvitz, Turner’s EVP and global chief communications and corporate marketing officer at the time, “Michael understands the intersection of messaging, storytelling, technology and media relations and takes an entrepreneurial and agile approach to the role communications plays in and for an organization. He grasps the connective tissue of these elements and delivers strategic outcomes, using data and analytics to measure success.”[7]
Bloomberg[edit]
Marinello became a personal spokesperson and communications executive for former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg in 2011, where he managed Bloomberg's personal social media and digital profiles.[8] He also served as a spokesperson for Bloomberg Philanthropies.[9] In 2014, Marinello was credited with striking a deal with HBO to have the Bloomberg Terminal featured on a segment of the series The Newsroom.[10]
