Football career[edit]
Player career[edit]
Michael Young Min Kim was born in the Republic of Korea and immigrated to Toronto, Canada. From 1991 to 1996, he was selected for the Canadian U23 East National Training Team.[1]
Coaching career[edit]
National Team[edit]
From 2006 to 2009, he worked as a coach for the Korea National Training Center and assisted coaching license for AFC / KFA. In 2007-2008, he worked as a Assistant Coach and Technical Analyst for the Korea Olympic team participating in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games led by Park Sung Hwa. In 2008-2009, he helped Korea U17 National Team and participated in the 2009 FIFA U17 World Cup in Nigeria, which advanced to the quarter-finals.
Club[edit]
From 2010 to 2012, he worked as the First Team Assistant Coach for Jeju United FC who were runner-up in the Kleague Classic in 2010 and qualified for the AFC Champions League. For the season of 2013 he was later appointed as the First Team Assistant Coach for Daejeon Citizen FC under the Head Coach/Manager Kim In-wan who later resigned due to health reason and Cho Jin ho took over the helm as the Head Coach. However to no avail the team was relegated to the KLeague Challenge for the 2014 season.
In the year 2014 he was promoted as the Assistant Manager/Coach of Daejeon Citizen FC and helped the team win promotion to the K-League Classic.
In the mid-2015 season, Cho Jin-ho resigned as Head Coach, and on May 31, he was appointed at the Interm-Head Coach/Manager for the game against Pohang Steelers. In 2016, he was appointed as the Assistant Manager/Coach of Shanghai Shenxin FC of China professional league.
In 2017, he became the tactical coach of FC Anyang. He was promoted to first assistant coach before the 2018 season.[2]
Administrator career[edit]
From 2000 to 2002, he worked as an International Section Chief (Competition Department) at the 2002 Korea-Japan World Cup Organizing Committee, and as Regional Development Officer of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) from 2003 to 2005. As a technical analyst for the Korean Football Association, he has been participating a technical report for the 2006 World Cup in Germany and participated in the 2007 Canadian U20 World Cup. From 2008 to 2010, he worked as a consultant for East Asia Region of Manchester United. From 2016, he is working as Assistant Coach Education instructor of the AFC C & D License. Since January 2018, he has been a member of the Information Strategy Subcommittee of the Korea National Football Association(KFA).[3]
