Michele Kanan (born November 26, 1972) is an American writer.[1], producer, director, photographer and TV host best known for her Emmy nominated writing[2] on Emmy nominated STUDIO CITY, co-hosting “Kanan’s Rules”, writing/directing “True Colors” and photo credits for The Modern Gentleman; Cooking and Entertaining with Sean Kanan[3]

Personal Life[edit]

Kanan was born in Detroit, Michigan. Her father, jockey Frank Callico, raced in the Kentucky Derby in 1963. She married Sean Kanan in July 2012; she has four children from a previous marriage and he has one of his own. Kanan spends her free time public speaking, mentoring entrepreneurs in the digital space, fostering shelter animals, writing and dressing up her pug, Charli Kanan[4] for photo shoots.

Career[edit]

Michele Kanan founded FLiPcreative in 2008 with artist Harif Guzman. Guzman left to pursue art leaving Kanan to pursue film and TV projects. Her projects include My Trip to the Dark Side and sequel My Trip Back to the Dark Side directed by Emmy award winning director, Shane Stanley. Followed by I’m A Soap Star, Limelight and Colonials. After writing STUDIO CITY in 2019, Kanan was Emmy nominated and won an Indie Series Awards for Best Writing. Currently she is in development on a 60 minute drama set in the cybercrime world.
