Mihoko Fujimura

Mihoko Fujimura (born in Gifu Prefecture, Japan) is a Japanese operatic Mezzo-soprano.

Life[edit]

She studied at the Tokyo University of the Arts Master's degree, the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich Master Class.

Opera[edit]

Mihoko Fujimura made her debut at the Bayreuth Festival in 2002 as Fricka in Der Ring des Nibelungen, returning for 9 years as Waltraute, Erda, Brangäne Tristan und Isolde and Kundry Parsifal. Other engagements include performances with the opera houses of Vienna State Opera, Bavarian State Opera, Royal Opera House Covent Garden London, La Scala Milan, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Théâtre du Châtelet Paris, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Festspielhaus Salzburg, Semperoper Dresden, Teatro Carlo Felice Genoa, Teatro Colón Buenos Aires and Teatro Real Madrid. Her operatic repertoire includes Kundry, Brangäne, Venus, Fricka, Erda, Carmen, Melisánde, Amneris, Eboli, Fenena, Azucena, Idamante and Octavian.

Her Concert repertoire includes Verdi Messa da Requiem, Mahler Das Lied von der Erde, Rückert-Lieder, Des Knaben Wunderhorn, Kindertotenlieder, Wagner Wesendonck Lieder and Schönberg Gurre-Lieder. She has performed in concert with the Vienna Philharmonic, Berlin Philharmonic, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra Amsterdam, Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia Rome, Munich Philharmonic, London Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, Orchestre de Paris, Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, Staatskapelle Dresden, Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, Boston Symphony Orchestra, Philadelphia Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra Washington, Montreal Symphony Orchestra, Filarmonica della Scala, Orquesta Nacional de España, RTVE Symphony Orchestra, Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Lucerne Festival Orchestra, Bamberg Symphony and Mahler Chamber Orchestra.

She appears regularly with conductors such as Christian Thielemann, Zubin Mehta, Christoph Eschenbach, Bernard Haitink, Mariss Jansons, Claudio Abbado, Colin Davis, Kurt Masur, Riccardo Chailly, Michael Gielen, Andris Nelsons, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Kent Nagano, Fabio Luisi, Daniele Gatti, Simon Rattle, Charles Dutoit, Semyon Bychkov, Myung-whun Chung, Franz Welser-Möst, Donald Runnicles, Jesús López Cobos, Daniel Harding and Adam Fischer.
