Mike Does History

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Mike Does History is an educational outreach project created by Mike Daugherty in September 2016. Mike utilizes social media as a medium to connect with fans, visiting and posting about historical sites across the United States and beyond.

A major focus of the Mike Does History project is ancient Native American cultures. Many of the historical sites are burial mounds, earthworks and former villages that have stood for thousands of years. Mike attempts to shed some light on some little-known historical places.

Armed with the latest technology, Mike uses HD camera equipment such as GoPros and UAVs to get the best views, both from the ground and the air. Sometimes the size and scale of a site isn't fully realized until you can see it from the air. Likewise, GoPros allow up close and personal pictures and videos, giving viewers at home a chance to feel like they are actually there.

Another form of educational outreach for Mike Does History is music. While only a couple of educational songs have been recorded so far, plans are in the works to create a Mike Does History album full of original material.

Mike Does History operates mostly on its website, YouTube, Instagram and Facebook, however there are several other social media aspects as well.
