PewDiePie: Minecraft The Series[edit]
Minecraft: The Series is PewDiePie’s Minecraft series created in the return of Minecraft in 2019. As a result, Minecraft: Part 1 hit over 40 million views in January 2021.[1] PewDiePie had teamed up with Dutch creator Party In Backyard for a third time to create Mine All Day.
References[edit]
The song contains many pop culture references not related to Minecraft but instead related to his series, or other popular things.
Line | Reference |
---|---|
Aww man | ‘Aww man’ is a reference to the meme ‘Creeper Aww Man’, from ‘Revenge’, a song by CaptainSparklez and Tryhardninja.[2] It is the most viewed Minecraft video of all time, with over 260 million views in January 2021 |
Bet you don’t have this blue, bet you don’t have this green, net you don’t have the biggest ball the world has seen! | ‘Blue’ and ‘Green’ are Minecraft references. The ‘blue’ is Diamonds and the ‘green’ is Emeralds. The ‘biggest ball the world has seen’ is the Giant Swedish Meatball, a structure in his series made entirely of Dirt. |
I’ve got bitches (what up, Sven?) | A ‘bitch’ can be a female dog, fox or wolf but can also be a derogatory word for a nasty, spiteful woman. Sven is PewDiePie’s pet Dog and the main character in the series, often called his ‘favourite pet’. |
I’ve got the best life, it’s easy to see! And a hundred million people agree! | At the time, he had around 100 million subscribers, the most an individual YouTuber has ever had.[3] |
I’m like a reaper gleaning when I take my pick and squeeze it! | A ‘Pick’ is a slang word for a Pickaxe in Minecraft. A ‘reaper’ is literally the Grim Reaper. |
What’s Gucci my gamer? What’s brewin’ my gamer? | This is a reference to Kanye West and Jay-Z’s song Niggas In Paris |
How’s it feel to be rich and have a diamond plaque? | When PewDiePie hit 100 million subscribers, he was given a black, diamond-like YouTube play button. It is worth noting the proper Diamond Play Button is achieved at 10 million subscribers, so Felix would have earns this award a long time ago. |
Remember kids, life isn’t fair. Take it from the second Swedish Minecraft multi-millionaire! | When Markus Persson (Notch) sold Mojang, the brand owning Minecraft, to Microsoft, he became a billionaire. PewDiePie’s net worth is over $88389800 million Australian dollars ($68 million US dollars) |
