Mitesh Dixit

Mitesh Dixit (born 4th January 1975 ) is American architect, philosopher, public speaker and professor working as assistant professor at Syracuse architecture.In 2012. Dixit founded Domain office, practice doing work in the fields of architecture, urban planning and publishing.

Education and career[edit]

After completing undergraduate and graduate work in politics and philosophy, Dixit completed the master of architecture from the Washington University in St. Louis and in 2004. began his career at the San Francisco office of Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill.

In 2007. Dixit started a job at Office for Metropolitan Architecture where he worked on many international projects such as Holland Green, India Tower, TGI De Paris and Taipei Performing Arts Center.

In 2011. Dixit started teaching The Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment at TU Delft as visiting professor of architecture and urbanism.

In 2012. Dixit left job at OMA to start his own practice - Domain office.

From 2013. He served as editor of Complex projects chair at TU Delft and helped develop the curriculum. He lead the Architecture of Violence studio, focusing on the region defined within the USA Mexican Border, and the In Chicago Graduate research studio.^[1]

In 2016. Dixit has lectured internationally as part of U.S. Departments’s Speak Program, and has held multiple lectures and workshops in the Balkans. In 2017. He was appointed assistant professor at Syracuse architecture.^[2]

His research is focused on territorial investigations in the area that is currently defined as the Balkans. ^[3]Via digital mapping, data collection, and cartography, the research documents the intersection of conflicting ideologies at specific moments in the region, to objectively illustrate the effects of ideology in the transformations of the built environment, e.g. housing, street hierarchy, mobility, landscape, urban fabric and infrastructure.
