Mizna Journal
Mizna: Prose, Poetry and Art Exploring Arab America is a literary journal based in Minneapolis. Founded in 1999, Mizna is the only US-based publication devoted solely to Arab-American literature and art.[citation needed] A work originally published in Mizna was awarded the Pushcart Prize in 2003.[1][2][3]
History[edit]
The journal is part of a larger non-profit, Mizna, founded in 1998 by Lebanese-American playwright Kathryn Haddad and Jordanian-American poet and writer Saleh Abudayyeh[4][not in citation given], which is a forum for Arab-American film, literature, and art. In Arabic, the word "mizna" (or muzna, مُزنة) means "cloud in the desert"[5].
