Mohamed Alsalman (Arabic: محمد السلمان (مخرج)‎) (born 4 January 1991) is a Saudi film director and scriptwriter. He is an active artist in the emerged film industry of Saudi Arabia. He is best known for his unconventional short films.

Education & Career[edit | edit source]

In 2014, AlSalman had obtained his bachelor's degree in Electrical engineering and conducting with an honors with distinction degree from king Fahd university of petroleum and minerals KFUPM,Saudi Arabia.

After two years of working in engineering, Alsalman shifted his career to filmmaking to become a full-time filmmaker. First, He began as an editor in a group of students, which produced several short documentaries about local figures. Then he co-wrote and edited many creative ads that varied in content during the time that Saudi Arabia had few Saudis working in creative professions.

In 2015, he directed his first short feature film "Amongst", which was selected as the opening film at the Saudi Film Festival. The film was screened at several film festivals in Europe, America and Canada and received the Ahmed Khader Award at the European Film Festival in Paris. .

In 2017, He just writing, directing and producing his second film " Tongue ", Which won the Special Jury Award in Saudi Film Festival.[1]
