Mohammad Ahmad Wali

Mohammad Ahmad Wali (born 1956), hails from Sanyinna, Tambuwal Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

He obtained his B.Sc in Political Science (Second Class Upper) from Bayero University Kano in 1980. In 1983 he obtained a Federal Government Scholarship to study Masters in Public Administration at the University of Liverpool in the U.K. in 1987 he obtained Commonwealth Scholarship to study PhD in Government at University of Essex in the U.K.

Amb. Wali started his career as a school teacher at Saida Primary School under Sanyinna District. Upon his graduation and NYSC he got appointment into the Sokoto State Civil Service as Assistant Administrative Officer in 1981. Amb Wali has held various positions in the state service including Government Printer, Executive Secretary, Pilgrims Welfare Agency; Principal, College of Arts and Science (now Sokoto Polytechnic); Permanent Secretary, serving in various departments of Government, leading to his appointment as Ag Secretary to Sokoto State Government and Head of the Civil Service in 1996.

In 1997 Amb Wali was appointed Director General to the African Training and Research Centre in Administration for Development (CAFRAD) situated in Tangier, Morocco by the governing council of the center which consists of Ministers of Public Service/Head of Civil Service of Member African countries.

Before the end of his tenure, Amb Wali was appointed Nigeria's Ambassador to Argentina with Concurrent accreditation to Chile, Peru and Uruguay in the year 2000.
