Montpelier and Wells River Railroad

On November 6, a charter was granted to the Montpelier and Wells River Railroad to build "from a point in Montpelier or Berlin, easterly through Washington, Caledonia, and Orange counties, for connect with the Connecticut & Passumpsic Rivers Railroad near the depot in Wells River and also with the Boston, Concord & Montreal Railroad".
