Moreno's Liquors
Moreno’s Liquors opened in 1977 in the Little Village neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The store specializes in tequila, mezcals and craft products imported from Latin American countries. For over 40 years Moreno’s Liquors[1] has been owned and operated by Mike Moreno Sr. & family. Mike Moreno’s vision has always been to sell varieties of Latino beer and spirits in the Chicagoland area[2]. This allowed Mike Moreno to grow their Tequila collection to over 700 different varieties & over 400 kinds of Mezcal[3], becoming the largest retailer of tequila and mezcal in Chicago[1]. The store has expanded their selection within the last few years to a wide selection of Craft Beers[4], Pulque[5], cognacs, whiskey, wine and spirits.
Their 40 year anniversary passed on May 2017[1][6]. They also hold a yearly craft beer event in a December, called "Brewrachos"[7]. Brewrachos showcases a wide variety of barrel-aged beers and limited distro. whiskeys.
Mike Moreno Sr. isn’t the only one that runs the store, as with a family business, members of the family are all involved with Moreno’s Liquors, his son Mike Moreno Jr is the beer buyer for the craft beer.
