Mother Earth Project[edit]

The Mother Earth Project, MEP, is a global environment-saving initiative.[1] It celebrates both the small and large tasks each of us take to save energy, minimize pollution, and reduce our carbon footprint, thus ensuring a sustainable future. Scientist and Sculptor Barton Rubenstein is co-founder of this initiative[2] , which he began with his family in 2015.[3] MEP has a number of concurrent projects, defined below:

Mother Earth Sculpture - Symbol of Sustainability[edit]

The Mother Earth Project places the Mother Earth sculpture in major cities around the world as the “Symbol of Sustainability.”  People like symbols and this sculpture will act as a physical reminder of the importance of saving the environment and living sustainable lives. Having multiple Mother Earth sculptures around the world, all facing toward the collective oceans, is a powerful way to express the world’s focus on fighting climate change. The hope is that this sculpture will become a gathering point during Earth Day (April 22 in the USA) and World Environment Day (June 5). MEP had its inaugural Mother Earth sculpture dedication on April, 2017 in Washington, DC.[4] [5]

Parachutes For The Planet[edit]

To raise awareness of people living sustainable lives and affected by climate change, MEP is encouraging individuals and communities around the world to create Parachutes For The Planet. MEP is presently collecting parachutes and displaying them at large venues. These parachutes are decorated with artwork and comments by students, individuals, and organizations that describe how they are living sustainably and how their local environment is affected by climate change. The hope is by sharing stories of sustainability and environmental devastation, we will encourage the world to be collective and active participants in saving the environment for future generations.

Social Media @MotherEarthProject[edit]

Mother Earth Project is focused on celebrating individuals that are leading sustainable lives and spreading the word to others. MEP has an Instagram platform, @MotherEarthProject that posts stories of sustainability from individuals, organizations and countries worldwide.

Country Achievements[edit]

Mother Earth Project celebrates positive environment-saving accomplishments of each of 195 countries. These achievements are celebrated on the MEP website as a way to inspire other countries to do be more sustainable and use renewable energy sources.
