Mr. Jam was a Brazilian pop music group formed in Rio de Janeiro in 1996.[1] Originally, it was constituted by the brothers Laura Almeida and Fabianno Almeida and, from the second album, also had Ricardo Pinda and Dudu Marote as members.[2]
Career
In 1996, the brothers Fabianno and Laura Almeida decided to start a musical project, calling it Mr. Jam. The first disc was entitled New Love Dimension[3], by Spotlight Records, marked by the singles “Celebration”, “The Way Love Goes” and “The Shining Light”.[4]
In 1998, the brothers gained reinforcement with members Ricardo Pinda and Dudu Marote, to contribute to the productions, placing the song "Rebola na Boa" in the opening of the telenovela Vila Madalena, from Rede Globo.[5] The second album, the eponymous Mr. Jam, featured another standout track,"Shaka Shaka".[6]
In 2001, the band released their third album, called Supersônico.[7] In 2002, the band disbanded, aiming at other individual projects, and Fabianno went on to sign with Mister Jam in his solo career as a producer.[8]
