NGC 1052 - DF2

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

NGC 1052 - DF2 is an ultra diffuse galaxy in the constellation Cetus. The volume of the object is roughly comparable to the Milky Way. However, the total mass of the galaxy, at 2x10^8 solar masses. In a paper published on 28 March 2018, researchers at Yale University announced preliminary conclusions that the galaxy had on the order of 400 times less dark matter than expected, leading some to speculate whether there is any dark matter there at all. It is expected more study is required to conclude that there is no dark matter present and theorize as to the mechanisms causing this phenomenon. [1] [2] [3] [4]
