Nature Boy (2021 Motion Picture)

Plot

Set during the fourth of July Weekend in Chicago, the film follows the adventures of  Nature,  an awkward 17-year-old from the Suburbs of Chicago. He lives in a racially segregated neighborhood with his family. On a trip to school his BMW breaks down and he meets Dante & Man Man, two boys from the West & South Side of Chicago. The 3 friends joyride through the city on their last summer of adolescents, amidst a city rife with class, race and social divides.  

Production

Film was directed by Ken Ngwa. Production was handled by Sun People Productions LLC.  & Oxala Producoes (Brazil) Nature Boy was shot on Location in Chicago and around Chicagoland.  Majority of the cast were extras & character actors from Chicago Series, “The Juke” &  Fox TV’s “Empire.” Notable film locations are the site of Donda’s House, Kanye West’s childhood home. The  Emmitt Till residence, Nat King Cole’s home, an apartment building once inhabited by Quincy Jones  and several other key Chicago landmarks. The film was shot in the midst of a heatwave over a grueling schedule of 28 days.
