New Hartford, IL is a village contained in the Martinsburg, IL township. New hartford is located five miles southwest of Pittsfield, IL.

New Hartford was founded by Isaac Hoskins, Abner Clark, John Shinn, and Nathan Brown. The village is named after the original home of Hoskins, Hartford County.[1]

In New Hartford, Ackles Apples Farm Market can be found. Ackles was has been a focal point of the village since 1967 and can be categorized as a produce market, grocery store, and a farmer's market. The market is a high point of attraction on the Pike County Color Drive, where visitors can purchase an assortment of different items. These items include apple butter, honey, a selection of candies, fruits and vegetables, etc.[2]

The only cemetery in the village, Prairie Mound Cemetery is located on 210th Avenue. The founding date of the the cemetery is undetermined. The New Hartford Church is located next to the once New Hartford School. The school was taught by J.N. Slade who was born on July 7th, 1850 in Crittenden County, Kentucky.[3]
