Nextep Systems

NEXTEP SYSTEMS is a cloud-based self-order software founded by Tommy Woycik in 2005. Based in Metro Detroit, the company develops a point of sale (POS) system with a focus on self-order kiosks for food service operators.

NEXTEP’s products include: self-order kiosks[1], touch screen drive-thru’s[2], point of sale (POS) terminals and tablets, digital menu boards, mobile/online ordering[3], and order management systems. NEXTEP offers a cloud-based restaurant management tool that allows their customers to manage menus, reporting, pricing and promotions via a mobile device or via web browser.

NEXTEP's customers include Subway[4], Au Bon Pain[4], BurgerFi[4], Moxie's DC[1], UFood Grill[5], and Bryn and Dane’s.[6]

History[edit]

In December 2017, NEXTEP SYSTEMS provided Dallas-area fast casual restaurant Malibu Poke with a new POS system that uses facial recognition technology to recall customer's previous orders.[7]

Early in 2017, NEXTEP SYSTEMS introduced facial recognition at the Owings Mills, MD location of UFood Grill as a way to recall a customer’s order history.[8],[9]

In March 2010, NEXTEP SYSTEMS partnered with SUBWAY franchisee Rob Woodward, deploying touch screen drive-thru’s at 4 of his SUBWAY stores. Woodward announced that he saw a full return on investment in 24 weeks.[2]
