Night Has Fallen is an upcoming American action thriller film which is the fourth installment of the Fallen film series, following Angel Has Fallen (2019) and London Has Fallen (2016). Directed by Ric Roman Waugh, the film is again produced by Alan Siegel, Heidi Jo Markel, Les Weldon, Yariv Lerner, Jeffrey Greenstein, Jonathan Yunger, and Gerard Butler respectively. Waugh co-written the screenplay again with Robert Mark Kamen based on characters created by Creighton Rothenberger and Katrin Benedikt.

Butler returns as Mike Banning from the previous films, yet, none of his co-actors have been confirmed to return respectively however producer Alan Siegel teased the future of the film series back in November 2019, while on a year later on the same month, the project has been announced to be in the works.[1]

  • Gerard Butler as Mike Banning, a protective Secret Service who has been guarding the U.S. Presidents. Butler reprises the role from previous Fallen films ,marking his fourth appearance as the character.[2]

In November 2019, series producer Alan Siegel announced plans for a fourth, fifth and sixth film, as well as local-language TV spin-offs that would tie-in with the theatrical features.[3] On November 2020, a year later of the same month, it has been announced that the fourth film after 2019's Angel Has Fallen is underway under the title of Night Has Fallen.[4]

Siegel stated that the new film's storyline is "top secret"[4] while Jeffrey Greenstein of Millenium Media stated that "We looked at each other on the third one and we thought we couldn’t just blow up another city" but said "Maybe this time ,we will".[5]

Ten days into November 2020, it has been reportedly confirmed that Ric Roman Waugh would return as director from Angel Has Fallen and would again write the film's screenplay with Robert Mark Kamen.[6]

Casting[edit]

When the project has been announced, Gerard Butler has been confirmed to be reprising his role as Mike Banning.[7] Yet, none of Butler's co-stars were confirmed so far.[8]

Filming[edit]

Jeffrey Greenstein confirmed filming would begin in 2021 and stated they are working with Butler and Roman Waugh on the specific dates of the filming process.[9]
