Office of Assistant Commissioner of Police, Jalukbari was formed on January 1, 2015 under Guwahati Police Commissionerate. The Assistant Commissioner also holds the post of Executive Magistrate dealing with sec 107 CrPC, at law and order situations but it doesn't not deal with sec 145 CrPC.Located at Bharalumukh Police Station and it covers two Police Stations namely, Jalukbari Police Station and Bharalumukh Police Stations and three Out Posts namely, Kamakhya Outpost, Gosala Outpost and Jalukbari Outpost. The main functions of the Office of Assistant Commissioner of Police are supervision of crime related matters, law and order issues, etc. The purpose of creating the Office of Assistant Commissioner of Police has been to have a close watch of the activities of the police stations and outposts under its jurisdiction so that the public gets relief. The Office of Assistant Commissioner of Police, Jalukbari functions as a part of Guwahati Police Commissionerate and above it immediately in hierarchy it has one Additional Commissioner of Police and Deputy Commissioner of Police in West Police District. The West Police District is one districts under Police Commissionerate apart from Centra Police District and East Police District.
