Oh Chong-song is the 24-year-old son of ranking North Korean military official.[1][2]. he is not the first and only North Korean defector who escaped via the Joint Security Area to South Korea.[3][4] He escaped from North Korea on November 13, 2017. during his escape, he used a car and rode to the Military Demarcation Line with he crossed by foot after creasing in a ditch. Oh was transported with an US-airforce helicopter to a South Korean hospital. At the time Oh arrived at a hospital he had lost ½ of his blood. He was given multiple pints of blood. He currently is in a South Korean hospital where he is recovering from shot wounds obtain during his escape[5]. North Korean soldiers violated the Korean armistice agreement during the incident by firing shots across military demarcation line. following these events, all North Korean soldiers were removed from the JSA[6]. additional measures were taken to prevent similar defections by the North Koreans. a trench was dug at the site were there Oh's vehicle broke down[7]
Health[edit]
Oh is also known for the exceptionally large Parasitic worm in his stomach. Multiple flesh-colored parasitic worms were found in Oh, one of which was 27cm long.[8]
