Okey Ezeh

Okechukwu Theodore Ezeh, popularly known as Okey Ezeh, is a Nigerian writer, poet, journalist, banker, publisher, entrepreneur, politician and humanitarian. Born to the family of Chief & Lolo Theodore Nlewedim Ezeh of Umuihuocha in Obohia, in Ahiazu Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State, South Eastern part of Nigeria, Okey had his secondary education at the Federal Government College Okigwe. He later went to the University of Nigeria Nsukka from where he graduated in 1991 in Mass Communication. He obtained a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Benin in 1998.

Okey has banking experience of 15 years with a multinational bank (Citibank Nigeria) in a career spanning operations and technology, internal control, private, commercial and corporate banking; rising to senior managerial cadre with core competence in relationship management of public sector, infrastructural and telecommunications businesses.

In January 2006,he set up Savvycorp Limited, a treasury management, financial and investment advisory located in Lagos which caters to a slew of multinational blue-chip clientele. In 2006 as well, the company secured a franchise from the European Armoured Trucks Bureau (BV) of The Netherlands to introduce secure armoured Cash-in-Transit transport for Nigerian banks and it was largely as a result of this pioneering effort that set the stage for the authorities to make armoured transportation compulsory for CIT operations of all Nigerian Banks in late 2007.

Okey is also the CEO of Marvel Turf Limited, owners and operators of The Jesus Never Fails Arena, an events, amusement and shopping facility located in Owerri, Imo State. Ezeh has played pivotal roles in attracting Direct Foreign Investment into the Nigerian economy. He partnered the Nigeria Investment Promotions Commission (NIPC) as Adviser at the 5th Edition of the Nigeria-China Business and Investment Forum (2007).

Okey is the Chairman of the Okechukwu Theodore Ezeh Foundation (OTEF), an NGO that seeks to create opportunities and empowerment for the teeming youth population. The Foundation has recruited, trained, certified and equipped over 800 Imo sons and daughters in various vocations; built and donated classroom blocks and pastoral centres to schools and churches and organized free extra-mural classes for thousands of secondary school students in Imo State.

Okey is currently a governorship aspirant in Imo State on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). He is nicknamed the Architect of the Imo Marshal Plan given that the blueprint he has drawn up to midwife the rebirth of Imo State when elected governor is known as the Imo Marshal Plan (I-MAP.

This father of four and Catholic is married to Adaku Ezeh (Nee Onuoha), a lawyer, chartered secretary and administrator.
