Onkar Singh Batra (Hindi: ओंकार सिंह; Punjabi: ਓਂਕਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ) is an Indian entrepreneur, innovator and author from Jammu, Jammu and Kashmir. He is the founder, CEO of Paradox Sonic Space Research Association. He is mainly known for developing InQube, a 1U CubeSat, also the first open-source satellite of India.[1][2][3][4]

Onkar came to notice after he received the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar in 2020.[5][6] During the COVID-19 Pandemic in India, he developed a web-based application, Covid Care Jammu, in order to provide self-risk assessment, telemedicine, and contact tracing web tools to users in the region.[7][8]

Early life[edit]

According to his father, he was developing since the age of four and had made his first website by the age of 7.[9] Onkar has completed his K-11 education from BSF Senior Secondary School, Jammu.[1][4]

Awards[edit]

Onkar is the recipient of multiple awards and other recognitions. He was honored by the Ministry of Women and Child Development (India), by conferring him the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar in 2020 for authoring a theoretical book.[5][6] He has also been titled the World's Youngest Theoretical Author[10][11] and World's Youngest Webmaster (male).[9] Other awards include the Global Child Prodigy Awards and featuring at #47 in The Sikh 100 under 30 list for 2020 and 2021.[12][13]
