Peter Vansantvoet, P. Vansant of simpelweg 'Sante' zag het levenslicht op 1mei 1959 in Leuven. Op zijn 15de ontdekte hij de blues, al vroeg had hij succes met 'the boxcars' (o.m. Lange Polle, Jokke kerkhofs,...) Na de finale van Humo's Rock rally in 1982 volgden nog 'the new boxcars' en ' double aces'.
in 1996 besloot P.Vansant om solo te gaan met verschillende straffe albums tot resultaat, onder meer 'this hounddog is still howlin', 'me and the guitarman', 'i am a believer', 'escape in style', 'P. Vansant feat lazy horse', 'paradox blues' en 'roots/raw/real'
De wortels van zijn muziek liggen bij de deep South blues. Bij mensen zoals John Hammond, Lowell George, Muddy Waters, Townes Van Zandt, Ben Harper, Chris Wiley
Na de diagnose van keelkanker in 2016, bracht hij nog het album 'roots/raw/real' uit. Daarna verloor hij zijn stem en overleedop 1jan 2018 in Leuven.
