PHERIAA COME BACK (Odia Film)
Pheriaa Come Back is an Odia film that was made in Deember 2018. The film got state film award of Odisha state Government in eight categories. It also screened in various film festivals. Professor Manojranjan Nayak president of Siksha a O Anusandhan University of Bhubaneswar initiated this film and his brother Sunil Kumar Das produced it under the banner of Summa Real Media Pvt Ltd. It was the first film of Mihir Ranjan Acharya who wrote its story and screenplay along with directed this.

Pheriaa Come Back made on the tribal backdrop of Odisha. Therefore it deals tribal dance tribal tradition and its blind belief. It claims that Odisha is second largest affected state in India as per witchcraft crimes. Story of the film inspired from Ashis and Ruta who have come back to Mahrastra leaving behing their comfortable life in UK. They have changed many villages in Nagpur. It is only the beginning of the film and its story takes different twists The film shot in real location of Koraput a tribal dominated district of Odisha. Its shooting done in May 2018 and completed July. Many tribal artists have appeared in this film first time. It has three songs. Dr Nirmal Nayak wrote its dialogue and songs. Shantiraj Khosla has composed music for this film.
Synopsis[edit]
Pheriaa Come Back is a story of five charactors representing “Pancha Bhoota” meet in tribal dominated village. Prakash Jyoti and their only son Ripun come to their village. Of course it was first visit of Jyoti and Ripun. Uttam, Prakash song and Jhumuri a village girl are their support in village. But Praksh uncle and aunt ere very much jealose of them. Prakash has a mission in his mind that he would do something for his village for his country. He believes development should be adopted by People not by Government. But, he finds people are more attached to superstition, women are branded as witches, ill children are treated by hot iron rods etc. Dandapani the quack dissuades people and treats children branding hot iron. Prakash reopens school, makes health camp and electrification to the hamlet etc. Before he could do enough suddenly he has been killed. Jyoti is alone now. Will she leave the village? She is confused. She is searching who killed her husband. One day Jhumuri insists her to go to a fair but suddenly they find Ripun is lost. Where is Ripun? Cast and Crew Pritiraj Satpathy and Zeena Samal have played the lead role in this film. Many theatre artist of Koraput artists have played key roles in this film.

Pheria got eight awards in Odisha state film award which includes best music for Shantiraj Khosla, Best Supporting actor female Shivani Khara, Best Child Artist Sarthak Hota, Best Art Sangram Maharana, Best Editing Amarendra Mohapatra, Best Costume Design Prasanna Satpathy (Mama), Best Choreography Munababu Besides it got best cinematography award to Amarjit Mohanty at Kala Samrudhi film festival Mumbai.
