Patsy Reid

Patsy Reid (born 27 May 1983 in Dundee, Scotland) is a Scottish fiddle player and singer. She co-founded folk band Breabach in 2003 and saw them nominated for best Folk Band at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards in 2011 before moving on to pastures new that same year.

In 2004, she gained a 1st Class Honours Degree in Applied Music from the University of Strathclyde, continuing her studies at the Royal Northern College of Music, where she graduated with a PGCE with Specialist Strings Teaching and PG Dip in Violin Performance. Her next appointment was as sole Teacher of Music at Kingussie High School, where she taught for two years, before moving to performing music full-time from 2008.
