Performeasure® Assessment

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

The Performeasure® Assessment [1] [2] is a technology to measure the performance of the brain[1]. It contains three different measurements. Those three are:

  • Brain Integration
  • Moral Reasoning
  • Frequency of peak experience

Background[edit]

Dr. Harald S. Harung and Dr. Frederick Travis have developed a technology to analyse the performance of the brain, called the Performeasure® Assessment[1][2]. Dr. Harald S. Harung is an interdisciplinary researcher with a focus on peak performance and leadership. Dr. Frederick Travis focuses on brain development from birth to adulthood, higher states of consciousness and the effects of meditation experiences on the brain.

Brain Integration[edit]

This measurement will be done with an EEG (Electroencephalography). With an EEG is it possible to see the brain activity of a person.[1][2] It looks like a swimming cap with holes for the sensors. The cap is connected to a computer that records subject’s brain waves. The brain waves are tiny electrical pulses associated with neurons (brain cells) firing. It takes a couple of hours to complete this measurement.

The test consists of two different parts that will together take less than 20 minutes.

The first part is a simple reaction time task. On the screen will appear an asterisk and will be followed by a tone after 1,5 seconds. At the moment of the tone, the person will have to press the button as soon as possible.

The second part is a choice reaction time task. This task involved 2 times an one- or two-digit number 1,5 seconds after each other. The person has to choose which is the biggest digit by pressing the button on the controller in the left or right hand.

The objective of the reaction time test is to see how the brain would prepare to respond during the two tasks. An expert will analyse the outcome of the tasks.

Moral Reasoning[edit]

Moral reasoning can be described as a process for humans to decide the difference between right and wrong using logic.[1][2][3] This measurement will be done by the Gibbs theory, it is a social reflection questionnaire. The questions are about moral problems and issues. The outcome of the questionnaire can be defined in three types of persons: Egocentric, focusing on you surrounding or focusing on the world.

Frequency of peak experience[edit]

A peak experience is a moment that comes close to perfection, a moment of optimum human development and highest happiness.[1][2] [4] Peak experience can be divided in four different categories.

  • During rest or relaxation
    • Meditation, praying or a quiet moment. An experience of a completely peaceful state. The mind is very awake but quiet. A state when consciousness seems the be expanded beyond the limitations of thought beyond the limitations of time and space.
  • During activity
    • Sport, making art in any way. During a performing activity that there is inside a state of silence, underlying and coexisting with activity, yet untouched by activity.
  • During sleep
    • An experience of a quiet, peaceful, inner wakefulness.
  • Luck
    • Wishes and desires are fulfilled in a way that seems to be caused by fortunate coincidences or good luck.

The measurement of the peak experience will be done with a questionnaire. An expert will analyse the answers and will conclude if it is a peak experience.
