«Persian Gulf» or «Persian Gulf forever», is the title of a political and nationalist song in protest of the achievement of the historical name "Persian Gulf".[1] This work was first sung by Mahmoud Aligholi in the album Season of Sacrifice (Kambiz Roshan Ravan) in 1981.[2] But he became famous with the Ebi version (Ebrahim Hamedi) which was performed for the first time in Paris. Persian Gulf song poet Adel Hosseini was composed, composed and arranged by Mohammad Shams.[3]

In an interview with Radio Zamaneh in September 2008, Ebi said about his feelings about the Persian Gulf song: "I always get so emotional when I sing this song, especially here. It was nostalgia. That is, when I performed this song, twenty years ago, my daughter JanKhatoon, I missed Iran immensely."[4]

At that time, Ebi went to Adel Hosseini (the songwriter of this work) and after getting his permission, this song was officially given to Ebi. With the consent of Adel Hosseini, this song was entrusted to Mohammad Shams for composing, and this song was sung in the voice of Ebi in 1988 and was officially released.

Short excerpts from the version read by Mahmoud Aligholi, in 2000, in the final credits of a film entitled Under the Skin of the City, made by Rakhshān Banietemad.

This song was later sung by Qasem Afshar (in the File album).

Protests[edit]

In an interview with VOA Persian TV, Ebrahim Hamedi stated that he performs the song everywhere except in the United Arab Emirates. Ebi's non-performance of this song in his concerts in Dubai caused protests and criticism from various groups of Iranians.

Ebi had refused to sing the Persian Gulf song at various concerts in Dubai, and some Persian-language TV stations in Los Angeles cited "material gain" as the reason, after which Ebrahim Hamedi said on a Persian-language TV station in Los Angeles that the song was due to sensitivity. The sheikhs of Dubai have not read about the Persian Gulf issue and preventing confusion in the space for holding a program for Iranians who have traveled to Dubai.[5]

Ebrahim Hamedi also in response to a question that if you return to Iran, what will you read for the first time in Iran? Said the song "Persian Gulf forever".[4]

Pop singer Ebi took to the stage at the Royal Albert Hall in London on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 for the benefit of people with multiple sclerosis. The concert was broadcast in full on BBC Persian TV and the Persian Gulf song was also performed.[6]

Broadcast from the IRIB[edit]

This song was broadcast on IRIB TV3 on the evening of Friday, 14 January 2005. In the documentary of Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf during the 2013 Iranian presidential election, this song was broadcast on IRIB.
