PopCorners is a brand of better for you non-GMO, gluten-free, popped corn snack products.[1] The production method for making PopCorners differs from traditional chips, crisps and corn chips as they are not fried in oil; instead, the company uses a patented, proprietary popping technology to create a popped corn product.[2]

History[edit]

PopCorners was founded by Zeke Alenick in Liberty, NY, under the company name Medora Snacks. Currently, PopCorners operates under BFY Brands and is based in Middletown, NY. Also, a part of the BFY Holdings company is a co-manufacturing arm called Ideal Snacks, based in Liberty, NY.

BFY Brands was established when Permira, an international private equity company, acquired Medora and Ideal in 2015, merging both companies within the BFY Brands parent company. Former Annie’s CEO Paul Nardone was brought in as the CEO of BFY Brands, overseeing both the PopCorners brand and the co-manufacturing operation.[3]

They are currently being sold as in-flight snacks.[4][5]

The brand made the list in 2017 of the Top 10 corn snacks in the US.[6]

In March 2018 the company was sued over empty space in bags.[7]

Products[edit]

PopCorners are produced in a variety of flavors. These are traditional popped corn crisps, Protein Crisps, Bean and Veggie Crisps.
