Priyanka is an Indian born Track & Field athlete who has won the Silver medal at the All India Inter-University Athletic Championships, 2017 for the 5Km Racewalking event. She is supported by the GoSports Foundation through the Abhinav Bindra Targeting Performance Programme
Early life and background[edit]
A Gymnast originally, Priyanka took part in a district level race-walking competition, egged on by friends, and performed exceptionally well after observing closely the technique of Racewalkers. Priyanka is pursuing her final year in Bachelor of Arts at Punjab University and wants to continue studying alongside her sporting career
Career[edit]
She has won several national medals, the likes of which include a Bronze medal at the National Games in Kerala in the 20km event. She has also represented India at the Racewalking Team Championship in Italy. She was initially with two coaches from her hometown, and attended camps and improved significantly in the National Camp, under the guidance of Russian coach Alexander Artsybashev[2]
